Reimbursement for your hearing aid

We’re here to support you every step of the way with your claim.

Understanding your reimbursement shouldn’t be complicated. At Audition BAHUAUD, our teams guide you step by step through 100 % Santé, Social Security, private health insurance, quotes and direct billing, to give you a clear picture of what’s covered and what you’ll need to pay yourself.

Audition BAHUAUD will assist you with your claims for reimbursement

Once you have obtained your medical prescription, your hearing care professional will arrange an appointment with you to assess your hearing. The tests will assess the extent of your hearing loss, your ability to understand speech, and the situations that cause you difficulty in your daily life. This stage helps to identify the solutions best suited to your hearing, your habits and your lifestyle.

Class I hearing aids are covered under the 100 % Santé scheme: for adults aged 20 and over, the price is capped at €950 per ear and they may be fully reimbursed, subject to certain conditions. Class II hearing aids offer a wider range of technological options and features, with the level of reimbursement depending on the cover provided by your supplementary health insurance. In both cases, the National Health Service reimburses 60 per cent, based on a maximum of €400 per ear. Our teams are here to help you compare the options to find a solution tailored to your hearing needs, your lifestyle and your budget.

Once the assessment is complete, Audition BAHUAUD will provide you with a standardised quote that complies with the requirements of the Social Security system and your private health insurance provider. Our teams will then assist you in compiling your application, submitting the necessary documents to the relevant organisations and liaising with the CPAM or your supplementary health insurer, in order to simplify the administrative processing of your claim.

Class I

A 100% Santé solution, with no out-of-pocket costs

Class I hearing aids are covered under the 100 % Santé scheme. The price is capped at €950 per ear for adults aged 20 and over. They are designed to provide a high-quality solution, fully covered subject to certain conditions by the National Health Service and private health insurance.

Class II

More technology, support tailored to your contract

Class II hearing aids offer a wider range of technologies and features: rechargeable batteries, connectivity, comfort in noisy environments, discretion and advanced settings, depending on the model. Their prices are not regulated, and reimbursement depends on the level of cover provided by your private health insurance.

Health insurance

The supplement that makes all the difference

The private health insurance scheme supplements the cover provided by the National Health Service. For Class I devices, it means you pay nothing out of pocket under the 100 % Santé scheme. For Class II devices, the level of reimbursement varies depending on your policy. Audition BAHUAUD can help you check your cover before you commit to anything.

Out-of-pocket expenses

Know what you’re really paying

The out-of-pocket cost is the amount actually paid after reimbursement from the National Health Service and your supplementary health insurance. It may be zero for a Class I hearing aid, or vary for a Class II hearing aid. At your Audition BAHUAUD centre, we’ll provide you with a clear quote so that you know exactly how much you’ll need to budget before choosing your hearing aid.

Your questions, our answers

The price of a hearing aid depends on several factors: the class of the device, the level of technology, the features on offer, the desired level of comfort and the individual’s hearing needs. At Audition BAHUAUD, our hearing care professionals will help you compare the different options so you can choose a hearing aid suited to your hearing, your lifestyle and your budget.

Reimbursement for a hearing aid is covered by two sources: the National Health Service, followed by your supplementary health insurance. The National Health Service reimburses a portion of the cost according to set criteria, and your supplementary health insurance provider tops this up in line with the cover provided under your policy. Our teams are on hand to help you understand exactly what cover you are entitled to.

Direct billing may be available depending on your private health insurance provider and the terms of your policy. This allows you to avoid paying upfront for all or part of the amount that will be reimbursed. Your Audition BAHUAUD centre will check the options with you before you are fitted with a hearing aid.

A quote for a hearing aid must clearly set out the price of the equipment, the services included, the estimated reimbursements from the National Health Service and your private health insurance, as well as the amount you will have to pay yourself. At Audition BAHUAUD, we explain every item on the quote to help you compare options without any unpleasant surprises.

Audition BAHUAUD offers payment plans to help you fund your hearing aid with greater peace of mind. Depending on the terms and conditions at the centre, payment can be spread over several instalments, including 3, 12 or 24 instalments, with no extra charges.
